    Understanding ECO Funding

    ECO, or the Energy Company Obligation, is a government-driven energy efficiency initiative designed to combat carbon emissions in Great Britain and address the issue of Fuel Poverty. This program offers several grants to support individuals in implementing energy efficiency measures, including:

    • Internal Wall Insulation
    • Cavity Wall Insulation
    • Room in the Roof Insulation
    • First Time Central Heating Systems

    Full list of heating types which enable you to qualify:

    If you don’t have a heating system or have a system that doesn’t involve a boiler and radiators, you are eligible for the grant. The following heating types also qualify:

    • Electric room heaters, fan heaters, or storage heaters that are 12 years or older.
    • Gas room heaters, including fixed mains gas room heaters.
      Gas fire with back boiler.
    • Electric underfloor or ceiling heating (not part of an electric boiler).
    • Bottled LPG heating..
    • Oil heaters.
    • No Heating in place.

    Who Can Apply?

    Three different routes are available via your Local Authority. The criteria for qualification have been massively extended and are no longer limited to just benefits.

    NHS Referral for health conditions related to limited mobility / Cardiovascular / Respiratory / High Blood Pressure / Asthma

    Low Income where household earns less than £31,000 (before tax)

    OR…

    Qualifying Benefits where someone in the household is in receipt of means-tested benefits, such as Pension Credits, Tax Credits, Universal Credits, Warm Home Discount (Core Group)
